Graveyard walk..

On saturday decided to have a wonder around leeds checking out graveyards for my book. Got lots of photos but need to decide on something specific to focus on as otherwise it'll be a bit boring hmmm..
Been thinking about:

- ages/ what age people died/ age going up throughout the book
- year they died going up through the book
- names/ a single name focused on through out the book

hmmm..

From graffiti to graves..

After looking at graffiti and tagging in leeds today I've decided that it doesn't really interest me as much as i thought it would ..hmm 

So whilst walking past a graveyard like i do every night when walking my dog i have decided to change my idea and look at graveyards in leeds:

- the history

- stones and different types of stones used

- derelict graveyards/ overgrown with moss and ivy

- rubbish being dumped there

- ornate stones

- sculptures/ angels

.. so on and so forth. Definitely more up my street :)

.. What is Research?

After the PPD session today I'm actually quite excited about researching which is weird because its not something I'd usually find that interesting.  

As a starting point I decided to find out if any of my mates were into graffiti and I found someone who had done a project on it last year..

Zine has been handed in. Woo

Now on to the book project.. I've been thinking about doing it on graffiti around leeds. It's something that I'm interested in but don't really know anything about .. hmmm best get started then.

Zines in teams

Just started our first brief of making a zine, working in small groups. Our theme is derelict places and secrets gardens/spaces. Something that i love so should be good. 

At the weekend took some photos of High Royds old mental hospital where they've started demolishing parts and adding new flat (which are crap compared to how it was).

First ever..
